The employment interview has been extensively researched for over 85 years producing clear conclusions about how to optimize the effectiveness of the interview. Some of these conclusions focus on improving the content and job relatedness of the interview while others focus on improving the interview process. While every organization uses the interview process in their hiring practices, very few are investing in interview training to optimize their results.

Extensive psychological research studies on interview training have demonstrated conclusively that structured interviews are more valid and productive than traditional, unstructured interviews. However, the most well designed interview guide is only as good as the interviewer using it. For that reason, Navient also offers an Interview Training module that supports remote online training and certification of interviewers enabling consistent and objective interviewing practices.
Navient’s Online Interview Training is a comprehensive set of five self-paced modules filled with engaging and interactive exercises. It is based upon years of research on interviewing best practices and is ideally designed for both remote and local training. In provides for on-line Q & A of Interview trainers. At the end of each module there is a skill mastery assessment that results in a certification of proficiency that can be logged in and tracked in the Navient system.
In addition to our Web Based Interview Training, Navient consultants can provide Customized Face-to-Face Interview Training for recruiting staff, line managers or executives. This training is tailored to the audience and the organization’s recruiting process. While the core of the content is similar to our web based training, our consultants provide ample opportunity for discussion combined with live practice sessions. The group and individual feedback provided to participants allows them to see the progression of their interviewing skills as they begin to apply the content of the training. Video based practice and feedback is also a powerful option for rapidly accelerating the skill development of participants. Navient’s Customized Face-to-Face Interview Training also allows organizations to establish clear and consistent standards for the evaluation of candidates through the interview process.
